Reel Grrls 2008: Story Time, DVD
"Story Time" is a compilation of video stories that only young women could tell. The DVD features five self-portrait pieces created by first-time filmmakers, and two films created by advanced students in the Reel Grrls Thesis Program. Subjects addressed in these films include the importance of choosing one's own personal style, a young Iranian woman questioning her choice to wear the hijab in the US, the effect of media consolidation on youth, and a novel and humorous look at stereotypes in modern society.

Coming Out, a Reel Grrls film that has been screened across the country, illuminates the impact of heterosexism and homophobia on the identities of queer youth. Produced by both queer and straight youth, it's fresh and humorous approach encourages audiences to examine previously held prejudices in a non-threatening manner.
